"An in-depth knowledge of handheld technology and its integration into our ERP application was critical. We chose eSequence based on their strong knowledge, background and experience associated with the Lawson Procurement and Inventory software packages and their expert ability to easily adapt and interface our existing Handhelds to the Lawson system. eSequence implementation and support exceeded our expectations. The system was up and running ahead of schedule, and their 24/7 support was very comforting and reassuring,"

REC, a Lawson client enlisted the services of eSequence to provide Web integration of it's Benefit enrollment for it's 200 employees.
"Marrying Web technology to Lawson benefit enrollment was exciting for us for several reasons. We were able to automate a manual process that required the handling and entry of several forms. We also improved employee record accuracy by gathering employee information as part of the benefit enrollment. Finally, our employees enjoyed the convenience of enrolling at their own discretion."

Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 123,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide, and is America's oldest national engineering society. ASCE's vision is to position engineers as global leaders building a better quality of life. The Society is preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2002.
Members of the eSequence team have had long-standing relationships with ASCE and returned to offer assistance with an SEA Implementation scheduled to go live in June 2001. The consultants worked with the ASCE staff to evaluate the requirements for the Employee Self Service Center and made recommendations to improve the chance of success on such an important project. “I worked closely with Mary Margaret Allegro to implement many of our recommendations,” explains John Rae, Vice President of Advanced Technologies, “these helped to promote knowledge transfer as well as keeping us focused on the priority tasks.” These tasks included updating the Lawson environment, Lawson applications, and Lawson web based products to the latest release levels as well as stabilizing the system.
The initial roll out to the Board of Directors was well received and Phase One was completed in April, two months ahead of schedule. Phase two is underway and will be completed by June.
John Rae proved to be an excellent partner for us. He has the ability to explain technical concepts in an easy to understand manner for our end users while interfacing at a differentlevel with our technical staff. eSequence has excelled at transferring knowledge so that our staff could maintain the system and the company would not have to keep calling in outside vendors. This was key in our decision to partner with this group."

Loral Cyberstar, owned by Loral Space and Communications Ltd. in New York, NY, is the premier provider in satellite services worldwide, with offices in North America, Europe and Asia. Cyberstar’s continuing vision to lead the satellite industry with the most up-to-date technology available makes it the forerunner in satellite transmission services.
eSequence Inc. began its relationship with Cyberstar in March of 2000, when eSequence undertook the challenge to revive a struggling Lawson implementation. The consultants worked closely with Cyberstar’s management and staff, and the project finished two months early and under budget. eSequence continued on to convert Cyberstar’s UK and German offices onto Lawson
REVIEW BUSINESS PROCESSES
Loral Cyberstar brought in eSequence to review and provided recommendations for their daily, weekly, and monthly business processes. Prior to the eSequence engagement, the monthly close process at Cyberstar extended over 10 days. eSequence recommended several daily, weekly, and monthly business processing improvements that reduced the time frame required to conduct a monthly close. Additionally, requisition approval was implemented through Lawson’s Workflow, which electronically routes requisitions to management for approval, thus eliminating the need to track down management for approvals on paper requisitions. Prior to these business process changes, it took an average of ten days to complete the monthly close and produce the financial statements. This entire process is now completed an in average of only three days.
INTERNATIONAL
Loral Cyberstar engaged eSequence to implement Lawson for each of their foreign entities. Previously, each distinct operating unit was using multiple programs for their accounting functions. Loral Cyberstar tasked eSequence to review the various business processes utilizing Lawson. This was critical for the future success of Loral Cyberstar, as previously Loral Cyberstar had no visibility of financial analysis of these entities during the month. Moreover, because the detail resided in multiple systems, it was difficult for Cyberstar to provide effective reporting and analysis. eSequence conducted a Business Needs Analysis (BNA) of each foreign unit. The implementation of Lawson at each of these locations mandated that they address both functional and governmental requirements for each country. Currently, Lawson is used at all of their foreign operations: North America, Europe and Asia. Most importantly, Loral Cyberstar now has the capability to access critical information and perform detailed analysis far more efficiently because daily transactional processing in Lawson. Each international implementation was completed on time and within budget.
REPORTING
Loral Cyberstar had unique reporting requirements that went beyond the standard Lawson offering. eSequence, utilizing the Crystal Reports, helped them design and develop various reports to meet their specific needs, tying in General Ledger detail with Activity Based Management.Additionally, eSequence was brought in to restructure Cyberstar’s current corporate structure, which allowed them to produce the proper reports and analysis needed by Cyberstar management.

Town & Country Hospital of Tampa, Florida, an affiliate of IASIS Health Care System, is a 201-bed hospital, running on Lawson UNIX 7.2.2 applications. Beth Hicks, Materials Director for Town & Country, is responsible for all procurement and supply chain functions of the hospital.
eSequence Inc. began its relationship with Town & Country in May of 2000 when Eric Hawkins, procurement specialist, was brought in to train Town & Country’s procurement staff and implement the hospital’s procurement and supply chain system.
“Eric’s expertise in Lawson’s procurement applications was what we needed in order to efficiently set up our procurement system,” says Ms. Hicks. “We contracted with eSequence to bring their consultants in on our procurement and supply chain project, and their team accurately and expeditiously set up the Lawson system to get us up and running in just a short period of time.”
In order to fully utilize Lawson’s procurement and supply chain function, the IASIS Healthcare System found it necessary to implement Lawson’s Trade Communication Services (TCS) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). We brought in Therese Fenter from eSequence, a Lawson advanced technology consultant, who implemented TCS EDI for Town & Country and the other IASIS Healthcare system hospitals; she established technical guidelines, provided TCS training, developed trading partner relationships and created test-case documentation. Electronic purchase orders and purchase order acknowledgements were established for several vendors: Owens & Minor, Allegiance Laboratories and Baxter.
“Therese coordinated all testing with our trading partners and provided recommendations for job automation,” explained Ms. Hicks. “Now twice daily we transmit purchase orders to and receive purchase order acknowledgements from Owens & Minor, Allegiance and Baxter. Therese automated the EDI jobs, thus minimizing the need for manual intervention in the pushing of purchase orders and receiving of acknowledgements from their vendors.”
Utilizing Lawson’s TCS EDI mapping routines developed for commonly used healthcare vendors enabled the IASIS hospitals to roll-out EDI in their production system within weeks. “Post-live support provided by Therese helped the Materials Departments to gain confidence that their EDI transmissions were transmitting to vendors accurately to vendors in a timely manner,” added Ms. Hicks.
